Welcome to McBride~
Saint Patrick's Church, McBride, BC I'm excited for us and especially the girls. You don't realize how isolated you are until you are isolated like we are. All the preparing in the world couldn't have prepared us for Takla. Lennah and Charley will really benefit from a Rec Centre and some playdates. I'm looking forward to meeting some new Moms like me, taking a "stitch and bitch" class (knitting and crocheting at the community centre), and enrolling Lennah in preschool.
We have to buy appliances; a fridge, stove and my personal favourite: a NEW washer/dryer!!! Oh, happy day when I get to use my new front-loading washer/dryer that I will be purchasing. I know, I know, I'm sick! But, if you know me at all, you'll know just how much I love laundry. Sure doesn't take much to make me happy! We'll also be getting that swing set that I wanted to get the girls last summer for our backyard. (Birthday gift ideas anyone ...)
So, back to McBride. It's a small town, another 3 man detachment. But, there's amenities there that we don't have here in Takla. We're only a little over 2 hours from Prince George, with NO logging road. Totally doable for me to do a day trip into town for shopping. And best of all, we're only 4 1/2 hours to Kamloops, which means we're 8 hours to home! Not the marathon 1200kms to Surrey that we've become accustomed to. We will be able to make the trip in a day without killing ourselves and torturing the kids in their carseats for 18 hours.

This was just the coolest thing ever. This dolphin could see Dylan through the glass, he kept swimming back and forth to him. It was amazing.
Someone was getting a little tired and cranky.
All better now.
