~ My Cool Finds ~

Pink Champagne pendant with cord necklace.
~
Cosmic Stripe pendant that was custom made into a brooch for me.

These two pieces of one of a kind jewellery are from the GroovyGlassGirl. For now I'm keeping my source of "where to buy" close to myself. I'm very excited about them and can't wait to get to show them off.

~ Babysitting ~

When I saw the photos of Charley on our bed with a belt in her mouth and hangers in her hand, being watched by her father, I was reminded that this had happened before. And here is the proof.

Exhibit A: Lennah, just 5 days old and sleeping on the stove!

~

Exhibit B: Just 5 months old and in a box in the garage.

I drove in the garage one day and there was Lennah tucked away in a box! She looked at the truck coming in and smiled. I could only imagine what she was saying - "Look at me! Daddy loves me!"

~

Exhibit C: Charley, 7 months old with leather belt.

~ Uncle Dan's Visit ~

Watching a little Rolie Polie Olie before bed.

Boy stuff

Nathan watching Charley, leather belt in her mouth, beating the cats with some plastic hangers!

The boys out sledding.

Charley says 'Look at me! I'm Uncle Daggle! And I have his toque!"

Dan got a little out of hand and had a 'time out'. Dare I say, acting like one of the locals? He's even drinking the local favorite!!

More guns!

The boys stopped and checked out the lake ice that pushed ashore overnight. This happened all the way down the lake. The ice is over a foot thick here - that has to be some massive amount of force to move that amount of ice and crumple it up like a sheet of paper.

A closer look at the ice. Several theories in place from the locals. One is the thought that there may be an open area further south and the wave action from the wind the day before pushed it up. Another hypothesis was this was a result of an earthquake to the north might have caused the lake to swell. Either way, that was a phenomenal amount of force.

This one makes me think of Nathan arriving on some far away planet - he looks like an astronaut.

Surprise, surprise. Nathan getting stuck - again.

We get the idea - it's deep!

Just playing with girls in the yard

"E.T. Phone Home" or No Charley, don't pull his finger!

Having a little dessert with Sean, the medic. Do you think he could find a bigger spoon?

Even more guns! This time on my kitchen table!

So, we're headed back down to the coast this weekend. And this will end Uncle Dan's visit to Takla. He came home with us after our Christmas visit and has been with us ever since! LOL
We hope he had a good time and we had lots of fun having him here.

~ Cookies ~

Charley having some fun while the girls baked.
Lennah baked her first cookies this weekend with our good friend Sandy. It was to be a rocky start, Lennah dumped about a 1/2 cup of salt in the mix. Then, after Sandy started all over again, Lennah started spooning the batter into the sink instead the counter for cutting! The girls used the playdoh cutters to make some of Lennah's favourite shapes.

Gotta make sure those sprinkles are okay!
Yummy icing.

As we had run out of time, Sandy brought over some more sugar cookies for Lennah to ice and sprinkle the next day. It all turned out quite tasty! Thanks Sandy.

Merry Christmas to me, Merry Christmas to me!

I got a wonderful Christmas gift this year. A new treadmill. Tonight it is assembled and ready to go! I just hope I am. I'm hoping that I will turn over a new leaf and get back into fighting shape as they say - wish me luck!

~ Out with the old ... ~

Before
Right down to my natural waistline.

That's all my own natural curl.
After

And in with the new!

After 12 years with virtually the same haircut, just slightly shorter or longer, I took the plunge and "hacked it off". With the help of my good - and trusted - friend Deanna, this is what she came up with for me. And I couldn't be happier, and lighter and freer. As my mum-in-law stated, I look less like a pioneer woman and much more modern. Just like a new Mom of two little girls should.
Thanks D.
