First Quad Ride

Lennah had her first quad ride around the compound. She loved it! She giggled and shrieked and had a great time!

First Boo Boo's

Lennah's first bee sting. Lucky for us, she's not allergic!

Lennah's first cut finger and band-aid.

I couldn't resist a couple of pictures of Lennah's first boo boo's and band-aid experience.

Flowers

On a happier note, here's a picture of my "Takla Bouquet"!

What else is a girl to do when she can't find a vase?

KIA K.I.A (Killed in Action)

First of all, don't worry. Everyone is okay.

That said, on September 6th, less than two weeks in Takla and on our first trip out of town, I had a car accident. Lennah and I were following Nathan out to Fort St James for a little trip into civilization. I lost control of my car on a corner and went off an embankment and rolled the KIA. Lennah walked (or should I say, crawled!) away totally unscathed and the only injury I had other than a bruised ego was a couple of bruises on my left arm. ICBC has since written the KIA off and Nathan is the only one driving us around for now. Here's some shots of the poor girl.

That's Lennah's carseat just inside the back door.

These shots we're taken about a week later at the tow yard. We went to say good-bye.

In my own defense, Nathan went into town the next day in his work truck. Prepared, he took the same corner at the same speed and was sucked into the shoulder just as I was. He says that with my experience and with only an SUV, I never stood a chance!

Lennah's 1st Birthday Party

Daddy, having some "Lennah time" pre-party.

One of the two ice cream cakes for Lennah. The other was chocolate!

Our sweet baby girl in her party dress. The dress lasted all of 15 minutes before I changed her. She was trying to crawl around and play with the other kids and just kept getting caught up in the dress. Wasn't it just precious?

"Happy Birthday to You!" I think Lennah was a little overwhelmed at everyone singing and clapping at her. (How about that t-shirt?)

Didn't take her long to get into it. She was trying to feed her Nona.

Classic Lennah - curled nose, baring all 8 of her teeth!

Some of the friends and family that joined us.

On Sunday, August 19th we celebrated Lennah's first birthday with a party at our townhouse complex. Many thanks to all our friends and family that were able to join us to celebrate such a milestone. It's been an incredible journey, it's hard to believe Lennah is already one year old.

Lennah's First Haircut

Okay, here we go.

The first cut!

Our hairdresser and best friend, Deanna and baby Will.

On August 14th, Lennah got her first haircut. Well, it was really just a little trim to clean up the wispies. It was so cute, we plied her with a cookie so she would hold still, and she still managed to lean away every time Deanna tried to cut a piece. But, not a tear was shed! (Except maybe her Mommy)

Some Updates from the Great White North

The great white fisherman! Nathan is so proud of this catch. This trout weighed in at 15lbs. Apparently, I'm getting a fishing rod on his trip down this week!

Another smaller one.

This shot was taken about 20:30 hours. What a sight. It's almost heavenly.

Awww, another member of Nathan's family.
